Here are the most common questions we hear about FormXtract. If your question isn’t here, let us know so we can add it!

What documents can data be extracted from?

Quik! FormXtract will extract data from any document that can be matched to a form in the Quik! Library that has been assigned to your account. This can include your own forms, third party forms, applications, contracts and virtually any kind of structured document where a form field can be reliably placed.

Can I submit forms that were not generated or filled out using Quik!?

Yes. How you generated or filled out the form does not matter to FormXtract so long as the form exists in our library and is available to your account. FormXtract will read forms filled out by hand on paper and then scanned, or online in PDFs and printed, or filled out in e-apps and downloaded, and even by third-party products (e.g. Laser App, iPipeline, Ebix, Firelight, Docupace, Ziplogix,

What happens if FormXtract cannot read the form data?

Although FormXtract can enable up to 99.9% accuracy, a form that cannot be read even by a human will result in an “Invalid” entry type. The data returned by FormXtract includes the “EntryType” which indicates if a field was valid, signed, blank, null or invalid - and invalid means the data could not be read. Your system will need to handle these exceptions, however, with 99.9% accuracy that means you’ll have significantly less exceptions by using FormXtract.

Can I build processing rules with the data FormXtract returns?

Yes. FormXtract output includes descriptive information that you can display to users (labels, field names, etc.), flags to indicate if fields are valid (including whether a sign field has been signed), and values with context that your system can use to determine next steps in your workflow. For example, FormXtract can tell you that your new account form was submitted, that the form is for a joint account, you’ll be able to see whether or not there were at least 2 account owners on the document and more - your system can use the data to determine the next steps, perform validations and flag exceptions.

 How fast is FormXtract?

3 business hours or less, depending on how much human validation is required and how many pages and fields are submitted. See Speed and Business Hours for more.

How many forms can I submit - how much can FormXtract handle?

The short answer is, as many as you need to submit FormXtract can handle. The more complex answer is that your account has a top-most limit set on it (by you) that Quik! uses to predict the scaling requirements of the FormXtract service. When customers want to do more than their max, we can scale up to meet that demand with a little advanced notice.

 What data can be extracted?

FormXtract reads forms using the Quik! Field Definition which has over 1.2 million unique fields defined. Does this mean that every field will be read off a submitted forms? No, only the fields that are defined in the Quik! Field Definition that appear on the form will be returned, however any field can be defined in order to be extracted. If there are fields you want returned that are not defined then we can add fields to the definition and build the form with these additional fields on it.
