Form Functionality
Clear
When you click Clear, all data will be removed from the form.
Reset
When you click Reset, the changes you've made to pre-filled data, and any additional information you've typed in, will be removed and the original pre-filled data will be restored.
Save
When you click Save, all the data on the form will be temporarily* saved in the same web browser in which the form appears. For example, let's say you're using your laptop and your form displays in Internet Explorer 10. When you edit then save the form, the changes are saved only on that installation of Internet Explorer 10 and only on that laptop. These changes cannot be copied to another browser or computer/device.
*Temporarily means:
1. Until the form expires (10 days after initial generation), which is indicated at the bottom of the form when it's saved (see the image below).
2. Until the form is saved again. Data is saved by form ID # (regardless of which clients were chosen in step 2). So, if you fill out form ID #123 with client A's information and save, but later fill out form ID #123 again but this time with client B's information and save, client A's information will be lost.
3. Until the data is deleted. If you manually delete your browser's history or have your browser set to automatically delete history on exit, your data will be deleted. Make sure your browser is not set to automatically delete history on exit.
4. Browsers running with privacy mode or privacy settings may cause forms to not be saved.
NOTE: Enterprise customers can extend their users the ability to save forms to an enterprise server instead of the user's local system. Please contact us to learn more (877-456-7845).
Load
Load the last saved data into the form. When you regenerate a form (either through Quik! Transaction Manager or by pasting a form's URL into a browser), it will display in a web browser and only the form's pre-filled data will appear. To insert the changes and additions you had previously made and saved, click Load. For changes to load as expected, they must have been saved properly (see the section, "Save" above).
CAUTION: If changes were not saved properly, clicking Load may insert data for another client.
If this happens, click Reset. This will remove all existing data and the original pre-filled data will be restored. From here, type in any changes and additional information then click Save. To be certain the data will be available later, please review the section on saving.
When you click Print, your web browser will prompt you to open or save the form in PDF format. This PDF copy cannot be changed but it can be printed, emailed or moved to another location.
CAUTION: Be aware that the PDF may contain private client data and you should be careful not to share that data via email or other unsecure means of sharing the PDF with others.
Managing, Transferring and Sharing Forms
If you wish to save, transfer or share a form with someone else or with another device, you can do so in two different ways. Be careful not to expose a client's private sensitive data when you share your form!
Save a PDF
To save a finalized form to PDF click the Print button. A PDF of your form will be generated you're your data and your web browser will prompt you to view or save the PDF to your computer or device. Please keep in mind that once a form is in PDF format, it cannot be changed.
Share a URL
Every generated form has a unique URL (see image below). This URL can be copied then pasted into a Word document, an email or a browser on another computer or device. Please note that URLs expire 10 days after initial generation and the forms associated with them contain the original pre-filled data ONLY (any data you saved or typed onto the form will not be available if you open the form's URL in another browser or device).
Once you've pasted the URL into another browser, you can make changes to the pre-filled data and type in additional information. When you click Save, any modifications will be temporarily* saved in the same web browser in which the form appears.
For example, you could copy a URL generated on your laptop then paste it into a browser on your iPad or tablet.
