Choose Clients To Fill On Forms
Quik! Transaction Manager gives you the ultimate flexibility in how you populate forms with your client data. Each client record in your database can be used in as many different roles as necessary.
Select Clients
After you've selected a form, you will be ready to assign clients to roles. Only the roles relevant to the particular form will be listed. If there is a scroll bar on the right side of the Role Selection box, scroll down to see additional roles.
To choose clients to populate, use the default database or choose a database from the drop-down list (see the arrow on the left below). You should see a list of all your clients in the list box, sorted alphabetically. Select a client then click the Add button to the left of the desired role.
Alternate Clients
When doing multiple forms, there may be times when you want to vary client roles from form to form. For example, let's say you're doing two forms, an IRA application and an account application. The owner on both applications is "Client, Sample". On the IRA application, you would like "Bluesky, Nicholas" to be the primary beneficiary. But on the account application, you would like "Bluesky, Patrick" to be the primary beneficiary.
To do this, you would first assign the role of Owner to "Client, Sample" as shown below.
Then you would assign one of the Blueskys as Beneficiary 1.
Finally, you would assign the other Bluesky to one of the Alternate Client roles.
NOTE: The Alternate Client fields are at the bottom of the list so you may need to scroll down to see them. To do this, use the scroll bar along the right side of the roles list box.
When you generate the forms, you will see Nicholas Bluesky listed as the primary beneficiary.
To change the primary beneficiary to Patrick, click the "+" icon (see the upper arrow below) next to Nicholas's name. A pop-up window (see red box below) will appear prompting you to select an alternate name. To select Patrick Bluesky, click the Radio button next to his name (see the lower arrow below).
The name of the primary beneficiary will change to read: Patrick Bluesky.
Remove Clients
Clients can also be removed from roles by clicking the Clear box to the right of their names.
You can also remove a client by right-clicking the client (or multiple clients) and choosing "Remove" on the pop-up menu.
View Client Details
Once you've moved a client to a client type, you can right-click and choose View Client Details to see all the information that will be filled onto the form.
When you click the "View Client Details" link, the detail screen will appear with all the client data separated by tabs. Click each tab to review the client data. While you can't make changes to the data from here, the Client Details screen makes it easy for you to verify that you have the right client and the data you expect.
